Where is my Barclays card reader?

About two months ago I tried to tranfer some money using my Barclays online banking facility. It told me I couldn’t do this until I’d ordered and recieved a new secure card reader PIN thing. Great, I ordered the card reader and sent a cheque to the person I trying to wire money to. They were less than pleased about that.

Not long after ordering the card reader I recieved a new debit card. Apparantly the old one was not compatible with with new card readers, even though it had a year left on it. This voided a whole load of standing orders I had on the original card.

Now, two months after that I’ve still not recieved my card reader - and now I cannot log in to online banking at all without it! Where the hell is it Barclays? Your customer service is the most dreadful I’ve ever had to endure. Why must you make banking so difficult for me?

Apparently if you lose a card reader they charge you 6 pounds for a replacement. So effectively if you want to go away on holiday or need to access you account from anywhere then you need to carry this silly device with you at all times and god forbid if you lose it…to me just a money making scheme on the part of Barclays…more profits and charges for securing your money.
